Meghan Shimek / Fiber Artist.
I met Meghan years after I was familiar with her work through Minted.com, where I used to work. As a 2D artist I’ve always appreciated artists who work in a tactile fashion to create volume, rhythm and texture with color and materials. Photographing Meghan’s work in her Oakland studio and getting a chance to watch her create on her loom was an honor and a thrill.
