I worked as a commercial photographer and content producer for 20 years, creating luxury catalog imagery, eCommerce photography and branded stories to drive sales and promote brand equity. I left the corporate world in 2023 to focus on work which felt more genuine to my life and what I love, art and artists. I’ve been fortunate to meet and work with a cadre of artists and galleries in the Bay Area creating content designed to promote their art. Applying my understanding and curiosity of process ensures an authentic expression of the artist’s vision, while over 20 years of professional experience and a degree in journalism ensures the work delivers on social performance and amplifies the artist’s reach.

RISA IWASKI CULBERTSON / MAG GALLERIES
I was wildly curious about Risa’s felting process and reached out to her for a studio visit. We made a short reel and shared collaboratively to promote her solo show at MAG Galleries. Months later I visited the show to complete the story with photographs of her work in the space.
ARTIST STUDIO VISITS + INTERVIEWS
I’ve been visiting Bay Area artists in their studio to create photography and video content to share with their audience and the gallery before an exhibition. In 2024 I began writing for Moth Belly Gallery’s Studio Visits and Interviews blog. This refreshing return to my education in journalism and work as a photojournalist has been a rewarding endeavor. I’ve also been creating promotional social reels to announce art openings for Moth Belly Gallery, 111 Minna Gallery, Mirus Gallery and MAG Galleries.

ART WORK REPRODUCTIONS
Leveraging my commercial photography background I am offering art reproduction services. From my West Oakland studio each artwork I photograph is only $50 and is delivered to the scale of the original art, ready to be printed or published online. If you can’t get your work to my studio, I can travel to your studio or gallery to document the work for a $150 location set up fee.
