PAINTINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS;
MANIFESTO I - Summer 2017
In 2017 I combined my photography and painting into a collective work titled 'MANIFESTO I'. This series of wheat pasted photographs mounted on cardboard which I painted with acrylic, sharpies, gold leaf, spray paint and colored pencils sold out in 2 weeks following the showing at my studio.
MIXED MEDIA 2014 - 2016
(HANDICAPPED) BLUE PERIOD
The hardware store in West Oakland used to have one gallon of 'Handicapped Blue' industrial paint to mark curbs. Both pieces are 5' tall messes of latex acrylic paint on found cardboard.
I finished the pieces in 2014 but not the gallon of paint.
EVEN THE RAUSCHENBURGS ARE FALLING APART
These canvases started as boxes my neighbors threw away behind my studio. I work hard to enjoy the process of preventing my art from becoming too precious during the act of enlarging an idea from my sketch book onto a medium that wasn't intended to out live me.
