Nuclear Spectrum is a Post Modern exploration of Western society and culture. Brandon Joseph Baker juxtaposes historical images related to the nuclear testing The United States conducted during the middle of the 20th century with photographs he creates in his studio. The intent is to draw the viewer to the art with the shock of the subject matter, placement on public structures, bold pink color or stark black and white contrast yet leave the viewer curious as purpose of the juxtaposition. The title of each piece functions as the only clue to the message and is an intentional bread crumb leading to a dialogue where the viewer applies their own experience and perceptions for a more personal meaning.
