ABOUT THE ART

Brandon Joseph Baker’s art begins with photographs he creates in his studio. His background as a commercial photographer and producer allows him to build images digitally hiding symbolism in layers to create deeper meaning and analogies of death and birth. His series, Nuclear Spectrum, explores the positive and negative repercussions of the advent of nuclear science while using the human form as a gateway to explore the psychology of his own sexuality, sterility and mortality. Wheat pasting his work at night despite the likelihood it will be ripped down, buffed over or washed away at dawn echos the temporal themes of life and death, birth and sex featured in the work.
